Caroline Hesse is an abstract painter based in Atlanta, Georgia, whose work is rooted in a love of color, texture, and the everyday sketches that inspire her.

She is especially interested in the way colors work together; how they can shift, soften, contrast, and create a feeling all on their own.

Her paintings often begin with familiar subjects like florals, tablescapes, simple sketches, and sentimental objects, which she translates into layered compositions through bold color, loose brushwork, and texture. She is always experimenting with materials, techniques, and layers, letting the process guide the final piece.

At the heart of Caroline’s work is joy. She loves creating pieces that feel personal to the people who take them home. Whether they remind someone of a favorite place, a special person, or simply a color combination they can’t stop thinking about.

When she’s not painting, Caroline can be found traveling with her husband or in her garden with her dog, Olive, always noticing the colors, shapes, and textures that find their way into her next painting.
